Why YoriYoi?

I don't believe we need to become the best versions of ourselves.

For one thing, I'm not sure such a person exists.

We're human. We get things wrong. We change our minds. We have limitations. Life surprises us, disappoints us and occasionally knocks us sideways.

But I do believe things can get better.

And better is often much smaller than we imagine.

A conversation. A realisation. Trying something new. Saying no. Saying yes. Changing your mind. Accepting something you fought for years. Finally doing the thing. Or deciding it wasn't yours to do after all.

That's YoriYoi.

We don't always need to work harder on ourselves.

Self-reflection matters. Understanding our patterns matters. Learning how our minds work matters.

But there's another side to it.

Sometimes you need to stop analysing yourself and go live.

Walk. Learn. Make something. Meet someone. Play. Laugh. Get interested in something that has absolutely nothing to do with personal development.

Because some of the things we try hardest to achieve happen indirectly.

You don't necessarily become confident by working on confidence. You might become confident because you tried something you didn't think you could do.

You don't necessarily become happy by working on happiness. Happiness might turn up while you're absorbed in something you love.

You don't necessarily reduce stress by spending another hour thinking about stress.

Sometimes you need to Look Left to Heal Right.

And then there's room.

This is perhaps what I want most for people.

Not an empty mind.

Room.

Enough room that you can hear yourself among everything else.

What do I think?

What do I want?

What matters to me?

And what would make things just a little better from here?

I don't know what you'll do with those answers.

That's rather the point.

What grows in that room is yours.
